Michael Ziomko
In the late twenty-teens when I first learned of Rachael Freed’s work with Legacy Letters, it seemed like a natural fit with what I was already doing in my professional career helping people with their end-of-life planning – their legal wills.
The important distinction, which I liked very much, is that Legacy Letters are about your values and experiences and are recommended to be shared with your loved ones now, whereas your legal will deals primarily with your valuables and is normally shared with your loved ones only at the end of your life.
Sharing my experiences and my values with my girls has not only deepened my relationship with them more than I could ever have imagined, but it has also given me a different, deeper picture of myself.
In addition to facilitating legacy workshops, I continue to make pottery – which I learned over 50 years ago—ladyhawke-pottery.com—promote Empty Bowls’ events to help feed people, and make trouble!
